I generally don’t make any pretense when it comes to camping: it’s just not for me.
We never loaded up the station wagon and pitched a tent when
I was growing up (for which, as a kid, I was immensely grateful). It might have been something on which I
missed out in my childhood. Or maybe not…
Still, in spite of my resistance to the idea, something
about summer and vacations and warm nights does have its appeal.
When I heard about Shelter Co. – it was like all of my
dreams came true. Camping and
someone else could do all of the work. A pop-up camping service that puts together everything
for you (at a location of your choice!).
European style canvas tents, 400 thread count bedding and Pendleton
blankets and a real bed! That is the concept behind this company. Now, this is the kind
of camping that I can wrap my head around. If they could just take care of the wild animals and
the potential of the mosquitoes, we would be all set.

I wish the Boy Scouts had invented glamping before I had to suffer through sleeping with a rock under my sleeping bag far too many times as a child. I always did enjoy the cooking on an open fire part of it though.
hm -very stylish but I'm still not interested in camping myself!
Love this idea...wish they travelled further afield.. :)
This is definitely my idea of camping. Do they also supply flushing toilets and warm water showers? Thanks. (Love those Pendleton blankets, but I prefer crispy 300 ct. percale sheets)

I am in agreement about the nature of camping and your preferences appeal to me. However, do you have a desert-island-sort-of-list of items you would like to take (have brought for you)? Books, champagne in ice, string quartet to play at twilight, pot of coq au vin on the camp fire, etc.; Things to confuse the wild beasts? Thank you for your wonderful images and writing. I am a grateful fan. David
Yes! That IS the ONLY way to camp!!!!:)

Hello Everyone
Grant K. Gibson - the blog
This content is so well written that I think that at least I should show my appreciation!
It is the best time for camping now. Thankfully, I am subscribed to Thatsnotcamping site and I get latest Camping updates.
Great idea if they have bathrooms and showers!!!

can't wait for your post about Burning Man - when are you going?
Jennifer
You posts are always so fresh and different.
Inspiring in so many different ways.
Something about your writing makes me feel like I know you. Even if we have never met.
Karen, NYC
If ever there was camping for Grant, this is the only way I would picture it.
Now that is my kind of camping!
