Books Books and MORE books!

I am starting to get concerned. I have books everywhere. On shelves- bookcases- under tables-on tables- hiding in closets. I really don't have a place to even put a glass of water down on my nightstand as there are so many books piled high and all around (it's amazing that I don't trip and fall in the dark at night).

I just can't help myself! But where am I going to put them all? I will just HAVE to find room! I just ADORE books!

Now there are just a few new books on my wish list that are all coming out next month (is April like some special book launching month or something?)

I will just HAVE to make room for these!

Joe Nye: Flair: Exquisite Invitations, Lush Flowers, and Gorgeous Table Settings

Mark Hampton: Mark Hampton: An American Decorator

The Great Lady Decorators: The Women Who Defined Interior Design, 1870-1955

Thomas O'Brien: American Modern

Susanna Salk: Room For Children: Stylish Spaces for Sleep and Play

I am so with you... I took half of my collection to my office and made a design library to share with all the designers I work with... little do they know it was my way of keeping them... hehehe

I do not think there is such a thing as "too many books..." you can always make room for the new ones coming out!

Great choices. As much as I'm looking forward to Mr. O'Brien's latest, I think I really need that book on decorating kids' spaces - I seem to do so much of that lately and I could use some inspiration! Thanks for the suggestions!! Marija

Grant, I, too have the same problem. I actually have my books and artwork,
in storage!! I can never bear to part with one of "MY" books. Love the lists here. Especially, Mark Hanpton, who became a mentor and friend to me, when I was first starting to design. And, Thomas O'Brien's Book. Great post. xx' m.

after wishing for my own gullet sailing around Sicily - i want a library of my own - the size of what would be a library for a small city of about 500,000 people... Will definitely check out those books and see if they are available in the UK yet.

The Flair cover is such fun! Can't wait to read them all, especially O'Brien's... I understand your book addiction completely. I think we out to start a 12 step program, though, quite frankly I don't want to be cured! XO
