New York Times

I nearly fell out of my seat when I clicked on The New York Times website tonight and there right before my eyes was me and my apartment- I have to say it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I am still pinching myself and shaking my head in disbelief!

The New York Times is a dream come true and I am HONORED to be apart of such a well read and respected publication.
I can't thank everyone enough at The Times for being so wonderful.

Audrey Templesman- you are my hero for your wonderful story that we have been working on for SO many months together.
I thank you for being such a talented writer and for all of our HOURS of phone calls, emails and text messages!

Peter DaSilva- you are a SUCH an amazing photographer- it was a joy to work with you on this project. I look at your photos with delight and think: "I live THERE!"

You can view the full article here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/01/garden/01location.html?ref=garden

(There is a slide show as well)

I want to thank all of my friends and clients who have believed in me and my life and let me follow my dreams.
This is a dream come true...

I also want to thank all of the bloggers out there that I have met by email and some of you that I have had the pleasure of meeting in person. I started "blogging" for fun (and it is still just a fun thing for me to do and share things with the world). The bloggers that I have communicated with have been so warm and friendly. It is an amazing community of people- and I am so glad that we can all share our passions with each other and the world.

A huge thanks to my partner Marc (who always jokes that I never write about him on my blog- but he DOES exist)- thank you for being there for me having faith in my career and me. You have seen the apartment transform itself over time (and you know to stay out of my way- and for watching Bloomberg when I am franticly rearranging everything over and over again) I heart you!

I just read the article this morning in the paper! It's the first section I turn to on Thursdays, and your piece is the BEST thing in the Home section today. Everything looks beautiful. Congrats and bravo!

Thursday morning ritual -- coffee first, and then I check out the Home & Garden section of the New York Times. Imagine my excitement when I saw that you were featured! A great piece about an old friend (albeit a virtual one). Bravo!

Grant, I'm sitting in my 200 year old Connecticut farmhouse with the sun coming through the trees looking at the article about you in The NY Times. I am so glad you have this blog because I immediately wanted to reach out to say "bravo" -- stunning. I love the way you combine old, new, whimsical, serious. I wish you were on the east coast and could share your expertise with me. All the best. You deserve it.

I was so happy to see this -your place is as divine as I expected from the bits I've seen here on your blog. I love the shout out to your partner too - so cute! :-) It often can be so easy to forget how patient these people are while we go about our 'business'!

An excellent article on an amazing home! And I love that photo of you. I usually only read the print version of the NYT on Sundays, but will have to make an exception today and run out to the newsstand.

October is proving to be a stellar month for you!

Wonderful apartment.

You might want to fix the typo in the first sentence: fell not feel, I think. A small matter.

Congrats Grant! The photos were sublime. The NYT isn't a bad trade-off for the Domino spread you were hoping for. Your decorating is sheer poetry. All partners of designers - including my own - do need to just get used to all the "tweeking". Somehow we're just incredibly hard to satisfy in our pursuit of beauty - lol. Again, be proud. Hope much new business comes your way as a result!

So happy to have found you! I loved seeing your home. I am a collector of antiques, art and whatever else makes my heart sing, and it is great to see a home filled with personal treasures, rather than a minimally furnished house with no soul. That being said, I appreciate minimalism with great art and accessories, but love too many things to achieve it myself. Thanks and congrats on the NYT article.

Your flat is beautiful in a mixture of classic and modern with a sense of proportion and a ease to the eyes. Stylish, formal but without intimidation. Great aesthetic!
