Sunday's trip to Amalfi (well sort of)...
I am in Portland, Oregon visiting my 9 month old god son (Elliot) and his mother and father (Sharon and Stuart) for the weekend and we have been relaxing this weekend and I have had a chance to learn how to update the look of my blog (thanks Stuart!) as well as sort through more photos of my past trips. This morning we woke up to snow on the ground- so the following is a hope to warm us up!
So here we have my trip last May to the Amalfi coast. We started in Sorrento and went to Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. We hired Luigi "the driver" and listened to Italian opera the whole way along the very rough roads (I have extremely bad motion sickness for those who were interested). Some people have emailed me to ask who I travel with on these trips around the world- in this post I am including a few pictures with people (gasp...I know for you artsy photo lovers). There is of course Suzanna (who we call our fearless leader) and her sister Sally with her boyfriend Richard and then Valera who lives in Carmel and Dorit (related to Isak Dinesen). We have the BEST time on all of our trips with laughter and good food. What's next you ask? Venice (where I have never been before!) in May for two weeks.

what a cute baby! I love your photos as always and I'm so jealous you're in Portland, one of my favorite cities!
I truly cannot decide where to look first, at that sweet baby or the Amalfi - what a splendid eye and talent you share with so many.
Beautiful pics!
Gorgeous pictures! My husband and I toured around the Amalfi coast a few years ago and I fell in love with it. Although my hubby shares your penchant for motion sickness and thought he was going to die on our private boat trip around Capri! He barely made it around the island and hasn't been on a boat since. Still, my dream is to live on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. Too bad the economy is so messed up it's putting a chink in my damn dream.
That floor!
Beautiful pics ! My last trip is supposed to be be amalfi ! That looks gorgeous
Precious baby. Thanks for the virtual vacation!
