Spring is in the air...

Though the rainy San Francisco climate may not feel like Spring, I get a craving this time of year to get things freshly organized -not only for myself, but with my clients as well.

Keeping up with all of the details around a client’s house can be overwhelming. I am a big list maker. It keeps my office on top of the numerous projects that we are working on.

A few weeks ago we arranged for a complete cleaning of a client’s chandeliers. This involved hours of work and even minor repairs (as you can see the top of this fixture was a little bit off). Having a dirty chandelier just doesn't look good.

The end result made such a difference - something that you may expect would be overlooked can actually create a strong impact.

For myself, I have lately been inspired to freshen up my apartment by re-arranging my bookcases and adding a few new pillows. I even cleaned out my pantry over the weekend. It’s surprising how much minor changes can give a space a new fresh and new.

Has Spring inspired you to change up your home at all?

Absolutely, I am on the same wavelength!!!
Just cleaned all my Chandys using the e cloth, it was a breeze. Needless to say I will be doing it a lot more often from now on. I have been doing lots of cleaning, organizing and lightening up as well. I am loving my house a lot right now. Spring cleaning is a fabulous ritual isn't it?

Absolutely! I have two big boxes for charity ready, and more waiting to be purged... I did my pantry a few weeks ago, too, after putting it off forever. And it only took about 40 minutes.

Back to rainy San Francisco? In rainy Vancouver I am re-organizing my patio, arranging planters, ordering custom made trellis, mirrors...

Grant - what a beautiful fixture. Mine is dusty...thanks for the reminder. Spring for me means getting rid of clutter. The folks from Goodwill are coming tomorrow to pick up a load of stuff from our closets and storage. That feels so good...
Then I can start new projects with a clear mind!

Happy Spring!

So funny you should mention spring cleaning. I've been preaching lately (my latest soap box) is all about cleaning for a fresh new look. Good advice! Shiree'

Hi Grant,

I absolutely fell in love with you when I heard your Skirted Roundtable Interview. You were so thoughtful and modest and open. Your success is well deserved.

I wonder if you might answer a question for me. I saw this console of yours (http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/ideas/flat-screen-tv-pictures#slide-9), and I wondered if you purchased the table and skirt together somewhere, or if you just had a skirt made for an existing table? I've been looking for a skirted console but the only one I've found is at Wisteria which is too small.

Thanks, and hope all is well!

Grant,
Yes, windows were just washed and what a difference!
I think a home like a car looks so much prettier after a wash!
Patio was power washed....too!!:)
