Feeling a little blue?

I love the blue on the cover of Elle Decor this month.

This might explain why:

The sconces in the bedroom are pretty similar to these online: http://www.empiricstudio.com/index.php?cPath=17

Is this your bedroom? Never the matter, it is absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had the guts to paint my bedroom a darker color. Someday.. But in the meantime, I think the next thing on my to-do list is to create a similar throw pillow to the one that is the centerpiece of the bed. I just love it.

I love the deep moody colors of your bedroom! I really like that your bedroom has the personality and appointments of a room, and is not just a place to sleep. Just read your interview on Williams-Sonoma Home. I have the tufted Fairfax bench in the chocolate leather and the smaller version in the houndstooth chocolate and cream. I own several other pieces too, and couldn't agree more that they do offer wonderfully designed pieces with real longevity.

Grant I love a blue room. Your deep, gorgeous blue room is so handsome and soothing. I have always had a blue bedroom, it is a very calming color, like the ocean. Yours is like the midnight sky. Lovely,Kathysue

The blue in your room is fabulous. When my son was 12, he picked out a very similar, if not almost exact blue for his room. Wish I had pics. From then on I was sold on it, too. (Although he didn't have the same cool accessories and lighting as you!)

Love your bedroom. I see influences of John Soane and Gil Schafer - bold and classic design at its best!

Grant - I love that you did your ceiling and moldings blue. I long abandoned decorator's white (though I do still love the look - there's other things I just love more lately!). Great room.

Envious that you got your Elle Decor. Mine shows up way after everyone else already seems to have read it (?!). Have a great weekend...

we're just starting a house and basing on whole palette on navy blue...I love how it's fresh and crisp with white or moody and brooding and warm (like your bedroom). excited to see Elle Decor agrees!

just discovered you via SRT and enjoying your blog and your work--

Grant, I'm so, SO in love with the latest cover and with how you've hung the framed pieces in your bedroom. Really admire your deep blue paint choice too.

I love a deep blue wall. So beautiful and dramatic!

I've been toying with the idea of using this colour for a dining room.

I am listening to your interview on the skirted round table right now, so i thought I would check out your blog! I really like the way your describe things! It's all so smart, the way you think about stuff. Just wanted to say hi.

I used the flat option (they call flat paint something else)

Love your blue walls! Heck, love the whole room- feels like a hug.
Grant, was your SF apartment ever featured on an HGTV segment? It seems so familiar to me.

Hi There,
Would you be able to describe how you attached the upholstered headboard to the metal frame bed? Clips, screws, so curious! I had been wanting to get rid of my iron bed until I saw your fabulous headboard. Please do inform! Thanks, Karen

Karen-
My upholstery workroom took two pieces of plywood and made a back and a front and then did the top with the fabric. The sides are open- and then it just fits on snug like a glove and doesn't move at all.
I might have confused you more. Email if you need more info than this!
