This week my adventures took me to many places and inspirations came from all over the place.
For breakfast recently I have been making oatmeal. Filled with textures and layers of colors. Even first thing in the morning, things can inspire you. My new favorite combo by the way is dried apricots, flax seeds, blueberries, and pecans and a dollop of non fat Greek yogurt.
A quick weekend to Portland cant be complete without a trip to Powell's Books. This trip actually required two visits and books to be shipped! Now I just have to figure out how they are all going to fit in the already overflowing bookcases.
I am loving geometric carpets and using them on lots of projects. Here are a few favorites that we are working on.

Love those carpets!
Where might I find those carpets in Chicago?
Love carpets too!!! You really make oatmeal look good and like a piece of artwork, maybe i will try some one morning!
Who is the mfg of carpets?
i love oatmeal. i use raisins, dried cranberries, slivered almonds, pecans, walnuts, and my favorite-unsweetened coconut. i don't always use all of them together. i have been known to throw a sprinkling of butterscotch or chocolate chips in. recently i have branched out into corn meal mush with some of the above plus molasses. i'm going to try apricots! i always use skim milk.
All of the carpets are from STARK.
One of my favorite sources.
The only thing to do after a visit to Powell's Books is to have everything shipped home!
Beautiful carpets.
The carpets! Yes! I've been looking for something similar for awhile now, so thanks for the photo!
I love your breakfast. Looks so yummy!
That breakfast looks amazing and the carpets and the shopping at Powells. You have the best life ever. Keep sharing it all with us. Thanks.
