Interviewed on The Skirted Roundtable
Thank you SO much to Joni (from Cote de Texas), Megan (from Beach Bungalow 8) and Linda (from Surroundings) who interviewed me on Tuesday night on their show: The Skirted Roundtable
If you are brave enough to listen to me chat (on and on) for an hour about design and how I got started and my work and company- check it out and make sure to check back as they have great guests.
I am honored to be apart of such great company such as: Vicente Wolf, Suzanne Kasler, Margaret Russell (Editor-in- chief of Elle Decor), Stephen Drucker (Editor-in-chief of House Beautiful), Jennifer Bowles (The Peak of Chic), Beth Rubino (who does movie sets that we all love like Something's Gotta Give and It's Complicated) and Charlotte Moss...just to name a few.
We had a great time chatting and could have gone on for hours.
Thank you so much again Joni, Megan and Linda.
It's so nice to know nice bloggers out there and to chat with people who are passionate about design.
I can't thank you enough for letting be apart of The Skirted Roundtable (and you SO should take the show on the road and I see a tv future!)
(Am I the only one out there who can't stand hearing yourself on tape! Oh my word! I keep saying over again- I really sound like that?)

I just went out on my own two months ago and it has been a crazy experience. I loved hearing you talk about your humble start in interior design. I would LOVE to see pictures of your first showhouse.
I had to smile when you talked about never having the home your clients have :)
I loved listening to that. First, it's great to be able to add, through your voice, another layer of who you are. (You sound great, btw). For me, hearing of your humble beginning with the Showcase House was very inspiring and encouraging. Thanks so much!
Grant -
I just listened to you at the Skirted Round Table and I am utterly inspired by your story! I was delighted to have "discovered" you on their site!
Should you make it back to Paris (or for that matter Berlin, Amsterdam or Antwerp) look me up - I'll take you to some of my favorite "brocantes and vide greniers" - I suspect you'd be a ball to shop with!
Thanks for the wonderful life story - my "take away" from listening was "to take a chance": whether in a Design Show, with your career or just in life in general!
You rock!

Your work is inspiring. I think you've nailed it in your design style: a mix, layered look of old and new. Bravo!!!

I am off to listen, and did I tell you how much I love your skirted table, even if it is not round! Nope- you are not alone on listening to yourself on tape!
You deserve to listen to you, as you inspire so many!
Grant - thank you again for coming on The Skirted Roundtable. You were a great guest and you sounded fine!!
Linda
Hi Grant,
I just listened to your interview on the Skirted Rounds Table and wanted to let you know that I truly enjoyed it.
Your stance on working with a client's budget regardless how large or small is really refreshing. I try to do the same for my portrait clients and can tell you from experience that it creates lasting friendships and true trust.
Grant,
This was so enjoyable and I thought you sounded just fine...normal :) It was such a refreshing and candid interview that many, myself included, will find you even more endearing!
Congratulations on your interview! I can't wait to go listen. Such a huge fan of your work!

Your interview on the skirted round table was wonderful, I love the design part of design and do not want the big office of people to manage either...I am up at 7am on a Sat. working in my home office, and enjoying what I am doing very much, I never want that feeling to change.
I finished one floor plan (cad) while listening and was disappointed when the interview was over... all the luck in the world to you in the coming years.
Regards, Carol Ann
This was my first introduction to Grant! I am in love! Not just adolescent love but soulmate love! Love the classic style yet somehow there is just enough twist and tweak to combine upscale, trendy, and comfort. I'll be back for more.
Loved the writeup on your place in all its beauty. Thanks for sharing. Would you be willing to share what floor stain color(s) you used? I had new white oak floors put in a couple of years ago, and I've never liked how yellow they were stained.
Thank you.
The floor color is a mix of ebony and walnut together.
50% blend. It makes it not too dark and not too brown. Hope that helps!
Grant, so happy to find you through the round table. They sure know how to pick 'em. I'll be back often to see how it's going with the toilet paper. OVER! Of course.
Grant - I loved listening to your conversation with the ladies... I just wish it had been video taped too. Very inspirational. Well done.
I just listened to you on the Skirted Roundtable and found your work ethic and style so refreshing.
I loved the story of your first showhouse. I can't wait to see more of your work. I agree with Joni...you are going to be HUGE!
I just discovered your blog and am amazed. Your home is beautiful. It is inspiring. Thank you again for sharing your private spaces with the world.
Grant,
I listened to your interview with The Skirted Roundtable earlier today while I was on a short road trip-- I couldn't wait to get home to see your work! Absolutely amazing. You are so talented (not to mention very inspiring). I hope to see a lot more of you in the future!!
xo,
a lovely being
I just found your fabulous blog and can't wait to listen to your interview. Gorgeous interiors, you have definitely inspired the girls at Inhabit. Thanks!
Can't add any more to the comments already posted other than I enjoyed the interview and it was too short. You've left us wanting more.

What a great interview! Thank you for being so honest - it was so refreshing. And if you need someone to show you around Hong Kong while you are shopping for furniture, or just want a coffee, look me up!
Grant I just listened to your interview on the SRT and was so impressed with how down to earth you are and you are talented beyond words. I will be sure and try to follow your careeer. Nothing but continued success coming your way, I am sure of it. Kathysue
I always follow the SRT and I loved your interview, it was great to hear from your voice how you started, how you work and what you are passionate about. Interesting to hear about your first House showcase in San Francisco.
Grant, I had so much fun listening! I can't stand to hear my own voice either -which is why I never record my own voicemail! ha
Grant, just be glad you don't have a southern accent. I just listened this afternoon and found your point of view and work ethic fascinating. Do you ever work in the southeast? If so, I would love to have you visit and give your imput on a large decorating project that seems to have hit a snag. Your apartment is lovely, your attitude vis a vis your clients wonderful and it was a pleasure getting to know you via SRT.
Stay true to your design point of view and your desire to deliver quality design work but on a personal level and you are sure to be highly successful. Best to you.
Anon- Call me anytime you want! I go all over the country for my clients and would love to help!
What a great, and fun!, interview. Thanks for sharing yourself with all of us. Lidy
I just came over to let you know that I loved your interview on TSR. Yes, I hate to hear myself on a tape, but that's because I have a Southern drawl. You sounded great, and your responses were so down-to-earth and informative. Thank you for sharing on TSR. laurie
