My favorite candles and a drinking glass-all in one!

I adore DIPTYQUE candles and am often sad when the warm glow and wonderful aromas are gone- but I have found a way to at least keep the LOOK of them around and enjoy them on a daily basis again.

The size is just perfect for a water glass- or in my case tonight my famous blood orange margaritas (Margarita Mondays!)-and I think that keeping the labels on adds a bit of interest and reminds you of all of the lovely smells that the candles offer.

Eco-Recession chic I call it!

(Now I am not saying to go out and buy a dozen candles and do this-as these are pretty expensive and I have been lucky to get them for gifts (hey my birthday is this week-in case anyone is looking for the PERFECT gift!) but why not start when you are finished with your next candle!)

I save candle 'jars / glasses' -(what would you call them?) and use them as cute little vases for hostess gifts! That way the flowers have their own vase and the hostess doesn't have to run around putting them in water and they're basically throwaways!
waste not want not!

Hey, I love your idea, Grant and also like ArchitectDesigns thoughtfulness in providing the hostess with a flower vase along with the flowers.

Happy Birthday, Grant.

This is clever! I too save all my beautiful candle glasses and use them for holding pens, makeup brushes, etc. I was saving the boxes as well since they are so lovely but I finally ran out of space!

lol. I NEVER would have thought of this, but it's a cute idea.

Hi Grant: Although I realize that Diptyque candles are much classier, when I read your post all I could think of was a childhood drinking from "pimento cheese glasses" -- morning juice in the little glass jars that our favourite sandwich spread came in! Definitely not classy, and long before "eco-conscious" was heard of. Just practical and cheap.

a little trick I found for the boxes,CL, I save them and use them to hold christmas ornaments. They're the perfect size to hold one ornament so it own't break in storage!

I am a candle junkie too and save the glasses for vases or tea lights. Great idea to keep the boxes for Christmas ornaments, xv.
